Mission

La Nazarena is the Human Development Center of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary. Founded in 2018, it is located in the town of Florencio Varela, in the Province of Buenos Aires, and occupies a strategic location surrounded by numerous and diverse neighborhoods facing social vulnerability. The Center’s mission is to respond to and provide support for the educational, health, and employment needs of these communities.

17.539 families

This is the number of families living in "barrios populares" (shanty towns) within a 5-kilometer radius of La Nazarena. These neighborhoods are characterized by substandard housing, a lack of sanitation services, and irregular connections to the power grid.

Where we are

To better address the needs of our community, we conduct a detailed analysis of the locations of low-income neighborhoods and the rates of chronic poverty in the area. This approach allows us to design programs tailored to the realities of our community.

Our Pillars

Education

We have a Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education program for children, adolescents, and young adults. We also offer elementary and secondary education for adults through classes under the FinEs Program.

Work

Training courses are offered in fields such as culinary arts, hairdressing, barbering, computer science, and programming. The goal is to enable students to launch their own businesses and secure decent employment.

Health

We have a group of volunteer medical professionals who conduct regular checkups and vaccination drives. Their dedication and experience ensure that everyone at the Center has access to quality medical care.

Why is it called La Nazarena?

In Spanish, "La Nazarena" means "the woman from Nazareth." The name pays tribute to Mary, the mother of Jesus, who lived in a town called Nazareth. She is the woman of the community who lovingly nurtures and cares for others. Her life inspires us to build a true home and family environment: a place where everyone feels loved and can grow day by day.

Mission

To support, educate, and empower those most in need to take the lead in changing their own lives, in partnership with María.

Vision

A new community with access to education and work, with our eyes fixed on our Mother, Mary.

Values

Joy, commitment, love, camaraderie, spirituality, trust, hard work, and solidarity.
