Amelie and Laura, volunteers from Germany, participated in the Schönstatt Mission program, experiencing volunteering at La Nazarena that combined service, community, and inner growth, leaving behind traces of hope and new beginnings.
We are Amelie and Laura, volunteers from Germany, and we participate in the Schönstatt Mission program, which combines social volunteering at La Nazarena with a journey of inner growth at the New Schoenstatt Center.
During our time at La Nazarena, we discovered that this place is a true home of hope. For the children, it's like a second home, where they can feel supported, accompanied, and encouraged to believe in a new beginning. We witnessed difficult realities, but we also saw how, through activities and support, the children and their families receive the strength to transform their situations. It's a mutual exchange, a constant giving and receiving.
This experience touched us deeply and awakened in us the desire to contribute, even in a small way, to open up a future for the children. We learned that a hug, a smile, or simply being present and listening can fill a child's heart with love. La Nazarena builds bridges to new beginnings and is experienced as one big family.
It was also very powerful to discover how the community of La Nazarena and the Schoenstatt Movement are committed to and live their faith in a concrete way, in service to others. This time was a gift full of grace, which helped us grow as individuals and in our faith, confirming that we are never alone and that God accompanies us every step of the way.
