Rosario Gimenez shares her warm experience at La Nazarena.
My name is Rosario Gimenez, but everyone calls me Rogi. I'm 21 years old and I'm from Córdoba, Argentina. I'm a fourth-year Social Work student at the National University of Córdoba. I belong to the Schoenstatt Movement, both in the Girls' Youth and in "Youth on the Move," where we organize apostolates together with the entire branch. I work in the Social Work department of the Schoenstatt Foundation, "Fundación 180."
I had the honor of visiting La Nazarena in July, where I volunteered for two weeks. Immersing myself in this project was a gift from God. I found a place full of grace where God is present in every moment and providesntially arranges everything. I met people with whom I was able to form beautiful personal bonds in a very short time, and they welcomed me with open arms from day one. People I carry in my soul… I met children, teenagers, and adults with hearts ready to offer a hug, a kiss, a kind word, a listening ear.
One of the most beautiful things is how differences intertwine in that quest to discover each person's unique qualities, allowing them to shine authentically. It's a home where one educates and is educated, where love and empathy are cultivated, where wonders happen in everyday life. It's that space where difficulties become lighter and joys greater.
La Nazarena has those "people who are so necessary," who, as instruments of God, transform entire lives. I am more than grateful for the opportunity they gave me to be with them, sharing mate, laughter, and meals. It was a unique experience that I hold deep in my heart. La Nazarena is a daily miracle of God.
